About giclées

Why a giclée?

In order to make my work accessible to more people and still deliver quality, I have chosen to have my work printed. In limited edition and in very high-quality prints. This is done by Re-Art, a very specialized company, which makes limited editions of certified art giclées for artists all over the world.

Giclée printing

The giclée art print is a printing medium that meets the highest demands placed on graphics by artists, museums and art collectors. The giclée art print has been given an equal place between the more well-known traditional graphic techniques such as etching, screen printing and stone lithography.A perfect scan is made of the original work. Then the scan is processed so that it comes as close as possible to the original artwork. After that the work is printed. This process uses acid-free paper, a high-quality digital printer and Archival ink. For the giclée I use Hahnemuhle paper. This is considered the best paper for fine art printing.

The prints meets the highest aging resistance requirements. The lifespan of the prints depends on the type of paper and canvas, but generally have a shelf life between 60 years and 200+ years, the latter if preserved as in a museum.

Limited edition
In advance I determine how much I will print (limited edition) of each work. I sign the giclée and next to my signature is the maximum number of prints and the number of the print involved. For example, 14/75 means that the print 14th in an edition of 75 pieces.
